Metal Processing Lidar
A large industrial company wanted a system that can remotely sense various gasses being emitted from large steel sheet processing equipment (human safety monitoring equipment) in a hot environment. Invented, designed, and developed manufactable LiDAR scanning system which provided different molecular concentration, location and flow; oversaw production build-up (10k/yr) to an internal manufacturing group. |
Opto package Strain System
A large telecom company wanted a method to actively monitor flexure and strain of a telecom laser package during thermal cycling testing for production testing. Modified and developed a phase modulated interferometer to allow to sense thermally induced strain while eliminating ambient noise conditions of the test chamber. Resulting design was implemented onto multiple final QA testing stations. |
Polarimetric and multi-spectral LiFi system
Developed various polarimetric and spread spectrum modulation methods imposed onto white light and ambient sunlight to allow LiFi free-space communications across terrestial and sattelite operation arenas. Brought both communication arenas into limited production (<1K/yr). |
Gas Leakage Sensor
Developed and prototyped remote gas absorption system based on NIR free space transmission through gaseous plumes associated with seepage and leaks in natural and human structures. The system developed could be stand-alone and autonomous monitoring and reporting or connected to an established network. |
